Grains

Nutritious and tasty, we have a bounty of wonderful grains. Please click on the links below for more information about the individual grain products we have available currently.

All of our grains are non-GMO and grown on-site here at our farm. Once harvested, samples are sent out to a reputable forage laboratory for nutritional testing. We gladly provide these results to our consumers upon request.

We package each of our grain products to order in the quantities indicated below. We gladly accept telephone orders through the close of business on Monday for pick-up or delivery on Thursday. Not able to pick up your order? Please inquire about shipping.

Wheat Berries

Hard Wheat
Hard wheat berries can be milled into bread flour, cracked and cooked or cooked whole. Higher in protein and tougher than soft wheats they take a little longer to cook and may benifit from pre soaking. We have two different hard wheats available:

Warthog has a smaller berry and a stronger flavor. Zorro has a larger berry, a mild flavor and a little more protein.

Soft Wheat
Soft wheats can be milled into pastry flour or cooked whole. Lower in protein and softer in texture than the hard wheats these cook a little faster.

Bravo is a soft red wheat. It has a larger berry and a little more protein. Richland **Sold out unitl late Summer of 2012** is a soft white wheat and has a smaller berry and a little less protein.

Barley

Conlon Barley is an American Malt Barley Association (AMBA) approved two-row barley.  Available in whole or hulled forms, barley is a versatile grain that makes for a flavorful addition to soups, salads, and main courses. Barley also makes for a unique flour, with less gluten and a nuttier flavor than wheat.  Check out our recipe page for ideas on how to incorporate barley into your kitchen.
